Taking aspirin on alternate days is ineffective in preventing cancer or cardiovascular disease in most women, a new analysis of Women's Health Study data found. For many women 65 years of age or older, the benefits of daily aspirin for primary prevention of colon cancer and cardiovascular disease still outweigh the associated bleeding risk.

Clopidogrel plus aspirin may reduce stroke risk better than aspirin alone after TIA, minor stroke
Patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA) or minor stroke who received clopidogrel and aspirin within 24 hours of symptom onset had a lower stroke risk than those who received aspirin alone, with no apparent increase in hemorrhage risk, a new study indicated.

Alternative antiplatelet agents, alone or as adjunct, more effective than continuing aspirin monotherapy after new ischemic stroke
While the study may support the idea that alternative antiplatelet strategies are better than continued aspirin monotherapy in patients who have a stroke while on aspirin, with respect to stroke recurrence alone, switching to other antiplatelet agents was nominally but not statistically more effective than maintaining aspirin monotherapy.
