Register now for live, in-person POCUS courses in the greater Chicago area

Courses on foundational point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) skills for internists, ultrasound-guided procedures, and advanced skills for outpatient practice will be held in November in Rosemont, Ill.


ACP is holding live, in-person point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) courses this fall in Rosemont, Ill. In addition to the foundational and advanced POCUS courses, new this year is an ultrasound-guided procedures course. Each POCUS course provides hands-on training from internationally acclaimed experts in performing ultrasounds. Participants will earn CME/MOC upon course completion.

POCUS: Foundational Skills for Internists is a two-day course with sessions available either Nov. 10 and 11 or Nov. 12 and 13. In a small-group, hands-on format, attendees will practice ultrasound scanning on live models to support the development of bedside image acquisition skills.

Ultrasound-Guided Procedures will be held on Nov. 12. In this course, participants will receive guided simulation training for common bedside procedure, including peripheral and central venous catheter placement, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis.

POCUS: Advanced Skills for Outpatient Practice will be held on Nov. 14. The one-day course is designed to advance outpatient clinical assessment skills through interactive training and individualized feedback from the instructors. Topics include a PEARLS approach to a multisystem ultrasound physical, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, skin and soft tissue assessment, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Participants for each course must register online in advance . ACP members who register now through Sept. 1 will save the most with a special early bird registration rate.
