Seeking applicants for ACP Dragon's Lair Competition

ACP will be hosting its second “Shark Tank”-style competition at Internal Medicine Meeting 2017 from March 30 to April 1 in San Diego to showcase the best and brightest ideas to transform health care and achieve the triple aim of better health, better care, and lower costs.


Are you an innovator in health care? Do you have a project idea that improves patient outcomes, cuts unnecessary costs, or allows physicians to collaborate more effectively? If so, ACP's Dragon's Lair Competition may be of interest.

ACP will be hosting the second “Shark Tank”-style competition at Internal Medicine Meeting 2017 from March 30 to April 1 in San Diego. The competition takes place in front of a live audience, showcasing the best and brightest ideas to transform health care and achieve the triple aim of better health, better care, and lower costs.

Project ideas should be focused on “Transforming Clinical Practice” in 1 of the following categories:

  • Patients Before Paperwork
  • High-Value Care
  • Finding Joy in Practice
  • Improving Medical Education
  • Meaningful Use of Technology

Applications must be submitted by Dec. 30, 2016. Preference will be given to project ideas for which the prize money will have a significant impact on the ability to implement the project.

The Grand Prize winner will receive $7,500 in funding for project development. An Audience Choice prize of $2,500 will also be awarded. All finalists are eligible to receive complimentary meeting registration and travel funds to attend Internal Medicine Meeting 2017.
