ACP testimony highlights educational efforts, recommends steps to implement MACRA

The College highlighted 3 priorities as the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 is implemented: to establish better measures and less burdensome reporting, to create realistic pathways for patient-centered medical homes, and to define eligible alternative payment measure requirements.

ACP recently offered Congress advice on what the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the medical profession need to do to ensure that the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) is implemented successfully and as Congress intended.

Robert M. McLean, MD, FACP, a member of ACP's Board of Regents, testified before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on April 19 and described what ACP is doing to help its members be prepared to succeed under the landmark law.

The College highlighted 3 priorities as MACRA is implemented: to establish better measures and less burdensome reporting, to create realistic pathways for patient-centered medical homes, and to define eligible alternative payment measure (APM) requirements.
