ACT-First: free online CME program helps identify and treat patients with liver disease

ACT-First is a free, online CME course to help physicians improve their knowledge and clinical skills in hepatology.

Up to 30 million Americans are affected by liver disease, and internists are on the front lines of testing, diagnosis, and treatment. The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) has partnered with ACP, Project ECHO, the CDC, and the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer ACT-First, a free, online CME course to help physicians improve their knowledge and clinical skills in hepatology. After completing the course, clinicians will know which patients to screen for liver diseases, how to diagnose, when to treat, and when to refer to a specialist.

Three units available now on HCV, HBV, and cirrhosis offer a total of 24 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, with future units planned that will include interpreting abnormal liver tests, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, drug-induced liver disease, and liver masses.
