ACP sponsored an award given as part of Medstro and MedTech Boston's Innovation in Primary Care Competition for residents and physicians across the U.S. to submit innovative strategies to improve primary care on the American health care frontlines.

The top 5 winners were flown to Boston on Sept. 16 to present to judges and an audience hosted by The Harvard Medical School Center for Primary Care, Primary Care Progress, and The American Resident Project (along with Medstro and MedTech Boston).

ACP sponsored an award for the primary care innovation that promotes the practice of high-value care. This innovation encourages clinicians to partner with patients to weigh the benefits of an intervention with its costs and harms to improve patient outcomes. The winner, Cole Zanetti, DO, whose winning submission was titled “Positive Deviance, A Value Based Approach to Patient Engagement in Primary Care,” will receive free registration to ACP's 2015 Annual Meeting in Boston.
