Decision support intervention for clinicians helped decrease low-value care
A tool to increase clinicians' attention to the possible harms of overtreatment among older adults, among other aims, was associated with a greater decline in prostate-specific antigen testing, unspecified urine testing, and diabetes overtreatment compared with an education-only approach.

Intervention successful in decreasing routine vitamin D testing
In a pre-post study, a decision support tool that prompted clinicians about appropriate testing criteria and included a best practice advisory was associated with reductions of 44% and 46% in inpatient and outpatient orders and of 61% and 48% in repeat testing, respectively.

Alcohol screening in primary care increased initial treatment but not longer-term engagement
