ACP announces winners of National Abstract Competitions

Winners of the national abstract competitions, who will be on site in Philadelphia to present their winning abstracts, are selected in one of five categories: basic research, clinical research, quality improvement–patient safety, high-value care, and clinical vignette.


ACP will honor the winners of its national abstract competitions during Internal Medicine Meeting 2019. The competitions are open to ACP Early Career Physician Members, ACP Resident/Fellow Members, and Medical Student Members.

Winners of the national abstract competitions, who will be on site in Philadelphia to present their winning abstracts, are selected in one of five categories: basic research, clinical research, quality improvement–patient safety, high-value care, and clinical vignette.

The ACP Early Career Physician winners will present on Thursday, April 11, in Room 117. Danny Allen Newman, MD, FACP, and Richard M. Wardrop III, MD, PhD, FACP, will serve as moderators.

The ACP Resident/Fellow Member winners will present on Friday, April 12, in Rooms 123 and 124. Sarah G. Candler, MD, MPH, FACP; Robert K. Cato, MD, FACP; John Hunninghake, MD; and Heather F. Sateia, MD, FACP, will serve as moderators.

The ACP Medical Student Member winners will present on Saturday, April 13, in Room 124. ACP Medical Student Members Steven Chen and Hanna Erickson will serve as moderators.
