ACP Annual Business Meeting

The ACP Annual Business Meeting will occur at Internal Medicine 2011 in the San Diego Convention Center on Saturday, April 9 from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Presiding will be J. Fred Ralston Jr., FACP, President of ACP. All Members, Fellows, Masters, Associates and Affiliates are encouraged to attend ACP’s Annual Business Meeting to be held during Internal Medicine 2011. Current College Officers will retire from office and incoming Officers, new Regents and Governors-elect will be introduced.

Dennis R. Schaberg, MACP, will present the Annual Report of the Treasurer. A key feature of the meeting is the presentation of ACP’s priorities for 2011-2012 by Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Steven E. Weinberger, FACP. Members will have the opportunity to ask questions following Dr. Weinberger’s presentation.

Chair-elect Designee elected for Board of Governors

The Governors’ Subcommittee on Nominations is pleased to announce that Thomas G. Tape, FACP, has been elected the Chair-elect Designee for the Board of Governors. He will officially take office as Chair-elect in April 2011. Dr. Tape will become Chair at the close of the Annual Business Meeting in April 2012 and serve in that capacity for one year.

Dr. Tape received his medical degree from the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Mo. He completed his residency and general internal medicine at the Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester. Dr. Tape is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Presently, he is a Professor of Medicine, Chief, Section of General Internal Medicine, and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Dr. Tape is also an attending physician at the Nebraska Medical Center and the Omaha Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Omaha, Neb. He received his ACP Fellowship in 1991. He became Governor of the Nebraska Chapter in 2008. He is the Vice Chair of the Medical Service Committee.
