Survey wants physicians' views on liability insurance

From the October ACP-ASIM Observer, copyright 2002 by the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.

The College is working with the AMA to survey physicians about their experiences with liability insurance.

Postcards and e-mail announcements were sent out last month to a random sample of physicians. The College is asking all internists who received an announcement to respond.

Approximately 32 specialty societies and 15 state medical organizations are working with the AMA on the survey. Participating organizations, including the College, will receive results in December or January.

The study findings will be used in efforts to reform the medical liability system.
