New immunization strategies unveiled on ACP-ASIM Online

From the February 2001 ACP-ASIM Observer, copyright 2001 by the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.

A new section on ACP-ASIM Online gives internists the information they need to combat influenza.

The section, which is part of the College's Adult Immunization Initiative, summarizes the latest in clinical knowledge to help internists administer immunizations. Users can tap into statistics on influenza and immunization, guidance statements with advice about who can benefit from immunization, and intervention strategies. In addition, the new section gives internists supporting clinical evidence and links to citations in the online database PubMed.

Users can quickly find information on available interventions, target populations, intervention timelines, the efficacy of interventions, safety issues, cost-effectiveness, referrals and patient education resources.
