John C. Baldwin, FACP, has been named the dean of Dartmouth Medical School and vice president for health affairs effective July 1. Dr. Baldwin is currently the DeBakey-Bard professor and chair of the department of surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of surgical services at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Paul T. Cochran, FACP, was named medical director for Presbyterian Healthcare Services' Heart Program in Albuquerque, N.M. Dr. Cochran had previously practiced at Southwest Cardiology Associates since 1980.

The American College of Rheumatology has re-elected Allan Gibofsky, FACP, JD, to its secretary/treasurer position. Dr. Gibofsky is a professor in the departments of medicine and public health at Cornell University Medical College and an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law and the Rockefeller University in New York. He is also an attending physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Lee Goldman, FACP, has been named editor-in-chief of The American Journal of Medicine, otherwise known as The Green Journal. Dr. Goldman is the chair of the department of medicine and the Julius R. Krevans Distinguished Professor at the University of California, San Francisco.
